1.Formal Education
Montfort Brothers are committed to the yeoman service of Education. Ranchi province has 25 educational institutions which are spread over the states of Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar and West Bengal. We have about 20000 students in our schools. We have 2 intermediate colleges in which there are about 900 students.
2. Non-Formal Education
We have 3 institutions wherein we cater non-formal education for the poor and the deserving students. We provide various trainings, computer knowledge and life-skills etc. to the school dropouts as well as to the poor and talented youths and help them to stand on their own feet.
3.Technical Education
Ranchi province has one NCVT approved Industrial School at Loyola School, Kurji, Patna. We have about 100 trainees in three different trades now. Besides it we have two no-formal ITIs; one at Buxar and the other at Hazaribagh.
4.Soscial Service Center
Social service or Social Welfare centers aimed at social upliftment of the weaker and downtrodden members of the society. We have four places centers for social service namely at Dhawaiya and Kanabandh, Hazaribagh; at Namkom, Ranchi and in Cuttack city of Odisha.
It has various objectives like:
- Ensuring social justice to all.
- Ensuring adequate status to woman in family and in society.
- Arranging vocational training, social education and health care of woman through social and community programs.
- Providing adequate educational facilities.
- Upliftment of downtrodden and under privileged sections of society.
- Creating public opinion in favour of social welfare programs.
We manage two Informal Education Centers called Montfort Literacy Centers i.e. Loyola School, Patna and Cambridge School, Cuttack. These centers mainly run in the evening for the poor slum children, those who do have money to go to a good school as well as lack proper atmosphere for studying at home. We help them become “Street Smart”. Means, that the children are helped to obtain the knowledge and skills to survive by him / herself in society. We help them to acquire skills and make their lives more interesting and enjoyable.
